Residents of Torpoint and the Rame Peninsula are being asked for their views on a proposal to re-home two local GP surgeries and the Community Health Clinic in a purpose-built health centre.
NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly has been working with GPs, Peninsula Community Health and local stakeholders to formalise plans to improve healthcare facilities for local patients.
The proposal now being shared for public feedback is for a new facility at Trevol Business Park in Torpoint, serving 10,000 registered patients in the area.
It would see the existing Rame Group Practice surgeries at Antony Road and St James' Road and the Peninsula Community Health Community Clinic in Hooper Street, move under one roof.
The centre as a whole will house local primary and community healthcare services, a pharmacy and a base for Outlook South West, which provides community mental health services. Discussions are taking place with other NHS organisations to see what additional services can be located there.
Local residents are now being asked to provide their views on the proposals.
There will be a Roadshow to present the proposal to local residents on Saturday 3 December at the Band Hut located in Sainsbury's car park, Torpoint. The event will run from 10am until 4pm and there will be a range of people on hand to answer questions, including representatives from Community Health Around Torpoint (CHAT), Rame Group Practice staff, Community 1st Cornwall and Primary Care Trust staff. There will also be a chance to look at the plans and get an idea of what the new health centre could look like as well as complete a questionnaire.
There are a range of ways you can give your opinions, including events with local health support groups, the Roadshow and questionnaires.
